Meet our team of volunteer coordinators who keep us running
Amanda founded Ruff Tales Rescue in 2014 and has been involved in rescue since 2011. She has a passion for saving dogs and helps out in all aspects of the rescue. Her one desire is to change lives, four paws at a time!
Social Media Manager
Amanda learned about Ruff Tales Rescue through her friend Shaina in 2019. She volunteered at her first adoption event in early 2020 and she reveled in helping the dogs find loving homes so much that she wanted to do more to help the rescue. She has a pup of her own named Knight and a cat named Kingsley.
Meet and Greet Coordinator
Anne started with RTR in 2018 and has quickly grown with the group. She has a love for animals and loves to help anyone she can. She adopted through RTR in the fall of 2018, and loves to continue fostering.

Caryn joined the Ruff Tales team in 2017 as a foster and volunteer. She loves fostering dogs, processing applications, and completing home visits to help the dogs find their forever homes. She recently joined our Foster Team to help oversee our foster families and ensure each dog has a wonderful foster family!
Chelsea joined the Ruff Tales team in 2014 when it was founded and has been involved in rescue since 2012. She is passionate about saving dogs and helps with every aspect of the rescue she can. She loves being a part of the RTR family and helping dogs find their forever homes... she even adopted her 2 dogs from RTR in 2015 and 2018!
Debbie joined the RTR team in 2015. Her love for dogs started when she was 2 and 50 years later the love just keeps growing! Her dream is to have a sanctuary for dogs when she retires.

Erica started volunteering with RTR in 2016. While processing applications and conducting home visits are essential to the rescue, she quickly realized there was more work to be done! Erica has worn many different hats in her time with RTR- Events Coordinator, Volunteer Manager and most recently settling in with the Foster Team. While she loves saving all dogs, you'll usually find her fostering the boxers of the bunch, she's definitely the breed enthusiast on this team!
Home Visit Coordinator

Heather joined the Ruff Tales team in 2018 as a volunteer and quickly began fostering as well. She adopted her dog from RTR a few months later and has continued fostering dogs, processing applications, and completing home visits. Heather recently joined our Medical Team to help oversee the foster dogs’ preventative medications and vaccinations. She loves seeing RTR dogs placed in their furever homes.
Jen joined the Ruff Tales team when it was founded in 2014. She has been a part of rescue since she was 16 years old when she found a dog and placed her in a loving forever home. She prefers to save and foster the 'underdogs': the misunderstood dogs, difficult dogs no one else wants and has helped many find their homes.
Jenn stumbled upon RTR in 2016 when looking for a third dog to adopt. After putting in an adoption application she quickly decided that fostering was a better idea! When fostering wasn’t enough, she started helping with processing applications and conducting home visits! Four years later, and wanting to help out even more, she has moved her way into leadership roles including Meet and Greet Coordinator and eventually to her current position as Foster Manager.

Jonathan has been a part of the Ruff Tales team since it was founded in 2014. He helps with all IT aspects of the rescue, has fostered dogs, and adopted his dog from RTR in 2015!
Kaleigh joined the RTR team as a home visit and event volunteer in 2018. She took on the role of Transport Coordinator in 2019 and has enjoyed working with the whole Ruff Tales team to help find dogs their forever homes!
Kathy joined the Ruff Tales team in 2015 as a foster, then joined our team as an applications coordinator. She now works on our Records Team ensuring we have everything we need for each dog. She also helps with home visits and events.
Kelley is a dog loving mom of two rescue pups! She adopted from RTR in 2015 and has been fostering our pups since 2017. She is passionate about the rescue and loves interacting with all our amazing volunteers!
New Foster Coordinator
Kristen joined the Ruff Tales Team in February 2018, first as a volunteer conducting home visits, processing applications, and handling dogs at events. She began fostering for RTR in August 2019, adopted a pup from RTR, and most recently taken on the New Foster Coordinator role. She loves working with RTR helping these dogs find their furever home by providing them with the love and resources they need during their journey.
Laurie discovered Ruff Tales in December 2016 while shopping at a local Petco with her newly adopted shelter pup. She spent time talking with the volunteers and was so moved by the rescue’s mission that she signed up to volunteer by processing applications, doing home visits and handling dogs at events. Shortly thereafter, she took on the role of Events Coordinator. In September 2018, Laurie adopted her first RTR pup, Jack!
Foster to Adopt Coordinator
Makayla joined the Ruff Tales team in 2019, first as a volunteer/foster and now has moved into the role of Foster to Adopt Coordinator. Makayla adopted a dog from RTR in 2017 and has loved being a part of the organization and being able to help other dogs find their forever homes!
Marianne has been involved in rescue for over 7 years. She has been a foster mom (failed 3 times), processes applications, completes home visits, transports dogs to their forever homes, and coordinates fundraisers. She is now a part of our Post Adoptions Team, helping adopters navigate through their transition with their new dog.
Nick started volunteering with RTR in 2017 after adopting Manni (aka Manatee) in that same year. Since 2017 Nick has been studying canine training and behavior after realizing the importance of bridging the communication gap between our four legged friends and their humans. Now in 2020 Nick has joined us as our new Training Coordinator aiming to help the RTR team, adopters and the dogs anyway he can.
Olivia became involved with the rescue in 2014 by fostering, attending events, and fundraising. She became the newsletter coordinator in 2015 and has created the content, design, and dog puns for it ever since! Aside from the given part of saving lives, her favorite part of the job is looking at pictures of our pups all day, and giving the volunteer of the month due thanks.
Home Visit Manager
Polline joined us in October 2016 when looking for volunteering opportunities. When she first started, she was only conducting home visits, but then began processing applications, handling dogs at events, and transporting dogs to their foster homes. She quickly learned how much this organization and its amazing volunteers do for the rescued dogs and she became the Home Visit Manager in June 2017. She loves working with RTR and looks forward to helping all of our pups find their forever homes!
Shaina started working with Ruff Tales Rescue in 2015 when she volunteered to help out at an event. Shortly after that she adopted her dog Disney from RTR and then began fostering. While she enjoys doing home visits and helping out at events, the thing she loves most is fostering - there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a dog go into a loving forever home.
