MEET THE TEAM
Ruff Tales Rescue is run entirely by volunteers! Meet our team of volunteer coordinators who keep us running.
AMANDA
Director/President
Amanda founded Ruff Tales Rescue in 2014 and has been involved in rescue since 2011. She has a passion for saving dogs and helps out in all aspects of the rescue. She has a dog named Kingsley who is the center of her world, she rescued him in 2014. Amanda moved to Texas in 2019 where she now volunteers at some of the shelters we rescue dogs from and fosters dogs until they are ready to make their journey North. Her passion and dedication for saving dogs is what helps to continue to build our organization.
JEN
Arkansas Director
Medical Manager
Jen joined the Ruff Tales team when it was founded in 2014. She has been a part of rescue since she was 16 years old when she found a dog and placed her in a loving forever home. She prefers to save and foster the 'underdogs': the misunderstood dogs, difficult dogs no one else wants and has helped many find their homes.
BECKY
Adoptions Coordinator
Becky joined RTR in early 2020 and helps out in whatever aspect she can. She's adopted several rescue dogs throughout her life, and is passionate about finding forever homes for other dogs in need. She is excited to grow with the Ruff Tales team and hopes to make a difference for as many dogs and families as possible.
BRITTANY T.
Medical Coordinator
Brittany joined the RTR team in January 2020. She started with processing applications and conducting home visits. Wanting to get more involved with the rescue, she decided to foster and take on the task of medical coordinator. Having the background as a veterinary technician brings some experience to the role. She has always had a love for animals and wants to help as many animals as she can, in whatever way she can!
CHERYL
Medical Assistant
Cheryl has been rescuing dogs since 2000 and adopted Rosa with Ruff Tales Rescue in the summer of 2018. She has a wealth of knowledge due to the various positions she has held over 15 years from managing a self-service dog wash, doggie day care and dog sitting/walking. Cheryl is grateful for all the work Ruff Tales Rescue does and wants to give back. She resides with Rosa, Kingsley and her 16 year old cat named Mau and her husband who limits her to three pets at a time.
ERICA
Foster Coordinator
Erica started volunteering with RTR in 2016. While processing applications and conducting home visits are essential to the rescue, she quickly realized there was more work to be done! Erica has worn many different hats in her time with RTR- Events Coordinator, Volunteer Manager and most recently settling in with the Foster Team. While she loves saving all dogs, you'll usually find her fostering the boxers of the bunch, she's definitely the breed enthusiast on this team!
GINA
Home Visit Coordinator
Gina joined the Ruff Tales Rescue team in 2017. Gina has loved dogs since she was a small child. She grew up in a family that always had 3-4 large dogs. While she has two rescues, she is limited to Poodle breed or mixes because of allergies. However, she never met a dog she didn't love and enjoys her time working with the team to help all RTR dogs meet their forever families.
JILL
Post Adoptions Coordinator
Jill joined the RTR team in January 2020. She jumped right in, helping process applications, completing home visits, transporting pups, and attending events. She decided to join the team as an adoptions coordinator and recently became one of our post adoptions coordinators… she likes to help any way she can to ensure the pups find their furever homes.
MARIANNE
Post Adoptions Coordinator
Marianne has been involved in rescue for over 7 years. She has been a foster mom (failed 3 times), processes applications, completes home visits, transports dogs to their forever homes, and coordinates fundraisers. She is now a part of our Post Adoptions Team, helping adopters navigate through their transition with their new dog.
NICK
Training Coordinator
Nick started volunteering with RTR in 2017 after adopting Manni (aka Manatee) in that same year. Since 2017 Nick has been studying canine training and behavior after realizing the importance of bridging the communication gap between our four legged friends and their humans. Now in 2020 Nick has joined us as our new Training Coordinator aiming to help the RTR team, adopters and the dogs anyway he can.
POLLINE
Home Visit Manager
Polline joined us in October 2016 when looking for volunteering opportunities. When she first started, she was only conducting home visits, but then began processing applications, handling dogs at events, and transporting dogs to their foster homes. She quickly learned how much this organization and its amazing volunteers do for the rescued dogs and she became the Home Visit Manager in June 2017. She loves working with RTR and looks forward to helping all of our pups find their forever homes!
SHAINA
Foster to Adopt Coordinator
Shaina started working with Ruff Tales Rescue in 2015 when she volunteered to help out at an event. Shortly after that she adopted her dog Disney from RTR and then began fostering. While she enjoys doing home visits and helping out at events, the thing she loves most is fostering - there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a dog go into a loving forever home.
